Krzysztof Urbański - Conductor
Alexandra Dariescu - Piano

Bacewicz - Scherzo
Mozart - Piano Concerto No.21
Tchaikovsky - Symphony No.6, 'Pathétique'

Tchaikovsky poured heartache and sorrow into his stunning final symphony. Its name 'Pathétique' means 'full of feelings' and with Krzysztof Urbański at the helm of the impressive Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, that’s exactly what they'll bring to Tchaikovsky's deeply personal last work.

The evening opens with a lost masterpiece by post-war Polish composer Grażyna Bacewicz, plus trailblazing pianist Alexandra Dariescu brings her 'balletic and expressive' playing to Mozart's technically demanding Piano Concerto No.21 in C major.

"[Dariescu] played its melodies with winning charm, like a ray of sunshine in a wintry world" The Arts Desk
