Spring is on the way and so are the laughs at Hull City Hall's monthly comedy club.
Headlining this March's bill is Sean Percival, who's brand of comedy steers clear of the surreal and confronts realism in an explosively funny way. Hailing from the Black Country, Sean is an ex-welder from Dudley, whose act is down to earth but bang up to date with its upfront attitude.
A festival favourite, he has performed at the Edinburgh, Glastonbury and Reading Festivals, and as a well-established headliner he performs at all major comedy clubs around the UK as well as being a regular host for the Jongleurs comedy clubs.
He is brilliantly supported by Sam Serrano a gender fluid, dyspraxic comedian, who has been taking the circuit by storm. A regular in clubs across the UK Sam’s unique trademark style is dark and self-deprecating in equal measure has seen them become a favourite with bookers and perform an incredible five solo hour shows at Hot Water Comedy Club, Nottingham Comedy Festival & Leicester Comedy Festival and has been described as “Laugh-out-loud funny” by the Yorkshire Post.
Also taking to the stage is Manchester based Pete Phillipson, a fantastically funny act, mixing fast paced observations and routines with wonderful characterisations. Pete is able to command an audience as well as he commands a variety of accents, wearing his comedy heart on his sleeve and leaving the audience in hysterics at his misfortunes and frustrations with the minutiae of everyday life.
They will be joined by your resident host and compere, Jed Salisbury, Hull's very own gagster extraordinaire.
The Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club has a successful track record of bringing the very best comedy acts on the current club scene and breaking new talent on the cusp of stardom – we’re the people who previously booked Jason Manford, John Bishop, Sarah Millican and Russell Howard before they were household names. So come and see more brilliant comedians!
Each show will have 3 comics and MC Damion Larkin 'One of the country's top new comedians' - BBC. Wherever possible we'll be bringing you comedians off the telly from such shows as BBC2's Mock The Week, Shooting Stars, Channel 4's 8 Out of 10 Cats, BBC1's Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, Have I Got News For You, QI, and Paramount's Live at The Comedy Store.
