The producers of School of Rock are sorry to confirm that performances at Hull New Theatre will now commence on Thursday 9 September, due to confirmed cases of Covid-19 within the company having impacted technical rehearsals and the opening timeline.
To allow for the knock-on effect of the schedule interruption and maintain the welfare of the cast and crew, performances on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 at 7.30pm, and Thursday 16 September at 2.30pm, will also not go ahead.
Ticket holders for affected performances will be contacted in the coming days with information regarding their booking. Tickets remain on sale for the remainder of the performances.
We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding in these unprecedented times and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We would also like to reassure you that Hull New Theatre, in tandem with the producers of the show, are continuing to work together to ensure Covid-secure procedures are in place.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the venue from Thursday 9 September.

Get ready to stick it to the man Hull, because Andrew Lloyd Webber's West End and Broadway hit musical School of Rock kicks off it's first ever UK & Ireland tour right here in the city.
School of Rock is the global hit musical based on the iconic movie starring Jack Black. Wannabe rock star Dewey Finn is cast out by his dive-bar bandmates and finds himself in desperate need of cash. Posing as a substitute music teacher at an elite prep school, he exposes his students to the rock gods he idolises, transforming them into a mind-blowing rock band. While teaching these pint-sized prodigies what it means to truly rock out, Dewey falls for the school’s beautiful, but uptight headmistress, Miss Mullins, helping her rediscover the wild child within. But, will they all find redemption at the battle of the bands?
Featuring 14 new songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber, all the original songs from the movie, and a band of insanely talented kids that play live every show, School of Rock will warm your heart and blow you away in equal measure.
'I laughed. I cried. I rocked!'
