Season Launch with Francesca Dego
International multi award-winning violinist Francesca Dego will host a short and informal talk about her favourite parts of the Bruch Violin Concerto, and demonstrate some of the sounds and techniques to listen out for in the proceeding concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Francesca is the first Italian female prize-winner of the renowned “Paganini Competition” in Genoa since 1961 and the youngest finalist of the “Enrico Costa” prize. Celebrated for her sonorous tone, compelling interpretations and flawless technique, this pre-concert event is a unique opportunity to see up close some of the highlights of the Bruch Concerto from one of the most sought after violinists in the world today.
