Chinese New Year Celebration in support of RSPCA

Celebrate the Chinese New Year 2018 with a concert of both local performers from the Chinese school on Percy Street and international performers coming from China. We have performances of Traditional Lion Dancing, Eastern & Western Music. The star performer is Cecilia Xiying Huang who is a Piano lecturer (Mmus) at the school of music, South China Normal University. She was born in China and started studying piano at age three. She gained her first degree in Piano Performance under Professor Lingyun Yang at South China Normal University, and then progressed to complete her MMus degree at the University of Hull, UK. Cecilia Xiying Huang has performed piano recitals and chamber music concerts in many famous concert halls in China and the UK, and holds seminars at Colorado International Keyboard Festival in the USA. She also served as judge in the International Keyboard Odyssiad & Festival in the states in 2013 and 2014. Her students won several awards in various international competitions. Local children will be showcasing their talents through both Eastern & Western music. The event is hosted by the Hull Chinese Community & Cultural Centre & the Hull & East Yorkshire Chinese School. To celebrate the Year of the Dog £1.00 from each ticket will be donated to the RSPCA Hull & East Riding Branch who will be attending the concert with a brief presentation.
